Michael T. Moore
Michael T. Moore has practiced maritime and aviation law for over thirty years. He has frequently been selected as a Florida Super Lawyer by Law and Politics Magazine, selected by his peers for inclusion in The Best Lawyers in America, and selected as a Top Lawyers in South Florida by the South Florida Legal Guide, by Florida Trend Magazine as one of 846 Elite Florida Lawyers. He is a member of Who's Who in American Law and a Fellow of the American Bar Association. Mr. Moore is "AV" rated by Martindale-Hubbell Law Directory, the highest rating given to practicing attorneys.
Mr. Moore is the founder and past editor-in-chief
of Southern District Digest. He has been a director of the
Maritime Arbitration Board, which is based in Miami and is
comprised of maritime lawyers and industry personnel. He is
a past chairman of The Florida Bar Admiralty Law Committee,
and is on the board of advisors of the Maritime Personal Injury
Reporter. He is a former president of the Marine Council of
Florida and was inducted as one of the few lawyer members
of the National Marine Banker’s Association, and he
has written various articles on the subject of marine finance.
Mr. Moore was appointed to the Miami River Coordinating Commission
formed by U.S. Senator Bob Graham and served on the board
of the United States Sailing Center, the official United States
Olympic training center for sailors at Miami, Florida. He
is a member of the Orange Bowl Committee and is a member of
the board of directors of Miami R.A.R.E.
Mr. Moore is included in Who’s Who
in American Law and is a fellow of the American Bar Association.
He has been awarded an "av" rating from Martindale-Hubbell
Law Directory, the highest rating given to practicing attorneys.
Mr. Moore is also a member of the board of trustees of the
United Way of Greater Miami, a former chairman of the Alexis
De Tocqueville Society and former member of the Coral Gables Youth Center Advisory
Board. Mr. Moore has bee a Director and National member of the Executive Board of the United States
Coast Guard Foundation and President of the Admirals of the
Fleet of Florida. Mr. Moore has been cited by the
South Florida Business Journal as one of the 100 Most Influential
South Floridians. Mr. Moore was formerly the Chancellor of the St. Stephens
Episcopal Church.
Mr. Moore was elected in 2008 to serve as the Chairman of the Board of the International SeaKeepers Society.
Mr. Moore earned his B.A. in 1970 from the
University of Florida and his J.D. in 1974 from the University
of Florida College of Law.
